How to make chicken souvlaki skewers
To make Chicken Souvlaki, you’ll need to have either chicken breast meat or boneless skinless chicken thigh meat. In this recipe, I’m using chicken breast. You will also need onion, tomato, Greek yogurt, olive oil, oregano, lime juice, lemon juice, garlic, parsley, salt and pepper. if you want to make a chicken souvlaki pita, you’ll want to have some pita bread and tzatziki sauce. That stuff is so good.
Cut the chicken into chunks and place in a bowl. Now you have to make the souvlaki marinade. To the chicken, add the Greek yogurt, the juices, the dry spices, and the olive oil and mix well. Let the chicken marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
while the chicken is marinating, make the souvlaki salad topping. Slice onion, and tomato. then chop a large bunch of parsley. Mix together in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Add olive oil and toss.
When the chicken has marinated to your liking, put several pieces of the chicken on the skewers.
Place the chicken souvlaki skewers on a hot grill pan and cook until fully done. (Chicken is done when intetnal temp is at least 165°) Now you’re ready to prepare your chicken souvlaki pita or gyro.
Spread some tzatziki sauce on a pita then lay the souvlaki skewer on top. Remove the skewer. Add some of the salad topping on top. Enjoy.
